Find out all about the Valley Arts Group — you don’t have to be a big-time artist. Join the Garden Club — you don’t have to be a Master Gardener. There is a new group: the Mystery Book Club and they definitely want new members who enjoy reading Mysteries of all kinds. Please RSVP for the brunch before September 4th, and pre-pay to save! Call Carolyn Leeper at 714-8901.Our membership forms were mailed out to all current members as well as potential members. Send your renewal in before September 4th and save on the dues. If you have a neighbor who needs a membership form, just let membership chair Sue Parsons know.
The annual Norstrom trip is set for Thursday, November 5th. If you are planning to go, let Yvonne know as soon as possible—she needs to know how many to plan for.
The Sudden Valley Women’s Club will participate in the July 25th Flea Market with a fund raiser. We will be selling used books — both paperback and hardback — to supplement our operating funds. We will also include cook books, home and garden magazines, music CD’s, and other miscellaneous items. Check in the Coffee Barn for a drop-off box. Or, to have someone come to your house to pick up books, call Carolyn Leeper, 714-8901.
June 25, Mount Baker Vineyards and Winery was the setting for a casual and relaxing picnic and wine tasting. Fourteen Sudden Valley women, and three husbands, enjoyed a winery tour before gathering on the patio for a lunch provided by the Valley Market. The Women’s Club is looking forward to many more outings in the coming year, in addition to the regular monthly luncheons. Membership forms will be mailed out in August as well as an invitation to participate in the September “Welcome Champagne Brunch” where members learn about all the Interest Groups.
A number of members joined with the Planning Committee, Wednesday, June 10, in the Coffee Barn. A great many ideas were explored for events outside the regular luncheon meetings–such as an Art Show and Wine Tasting with the Valley Arts Group; a combined luncheon with the Women’s Club and the Lunch Bunch and the Second Helping; a presentation by Denise Champion on the proposed Community Garden; a High Tea; a catered dinner in the Barn.
The next Steering Committee meeting will be August 12, in the Coffee Barn, to prepare the mailing of membership renewal forms.
Wednesday — June 10th — 11:00 a.m. In the Coffee Barn
All members are invited to attend and participate in brainstorming for next season’s events. Surveys have been returned with many positive and creative suggestions.
